What is Code Karaoke?
Code Karaoke is a web site created for anyone who enjoys coding and wants to have fun with it. The idea is to take any song and put it to code. Take a few versus of a song, transpose it to code, and then post it here. It's that easy.
What kinds of songs should you post?
In short, anything. Any kind of music you like and have an idea for how to put it to code. We ask you not post the same code snippets of previously created songs in the same coding language and style. This will help keep songs original and creative.
How do I contact Code Karaoke?
There are many ways to get in contact with us. If you want to follow us, sign up on our Facebook page and on Twitter. If you would like to get the top songs of the day, sign up for our RSS feed. Otherwise, if you want to get a hold us with ideas or suggestions, then feel free to send us an email.
Who is this site designed for?
This site is designed for any computer user. We wanted to take something we enjoyed and create a portal to share with everyone. It doesn't matter if you are just starting to program or you are an advanced user, its open to everyone.
Why rank songs?
Just like music charts, we want to have our own system to rank popularity. This allows us to pick the best songs in many different categories to share with everyone. Each user is allowed to up or down rank a song once. Let everyone know what you think and help the songs find their place in the charts.
Your editor looks familiar.
We really like Stack Overflow.com. We also really like what they have done with the WMD Editor and how they have updated it. It is a great tool for many applications, including writing code. Feel free to check out its development here, or try using our implementation of it here.
Go write some code. Take that song that is stuck in your head and create a code composition for everyone to see.
Just being sarcastic :) we all wish everyone was on modern browsers.
Awesome! Wait.. are you saying that I.E. 6 and below are sexy?!?
Haha. I had to go lookup this song because I didn't recognize the title. Nice.
